Mother, son accused of embezzling $47,106 from clients

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Tracie Michelle Famber, 59, of 1220 Echo Glen Road, Charlotte, and Terrance Antoine Hunter, 40, of 13505 Bryton Gap Blvd., Huntersville. Both were charged with four counts of felony embezzlement.

According to arrest warrants, the two embezzled insurance payments totaling $47,106.06 from four clients.

PRESS RELEASE - Increases in COVID-19 metrics have been seen in North Carolina and nationally during recent weeks, including in the early warning wastewater monitoring system. North Carolina’s COVID-19 metrics had been trending down throughout 2023 to the lowest levels since the pandemic began. Along with wastewater, increases have been seen in other COVID-19 metrics, including hospital admissions and emergency department visits, according to data on the North Carolina Respiratory Virus Dashboard.

NC Broadband Division Extends Deadline for Internet Providers to Prequalify for Several State Broadband Expansion Programs

The Division of Broadband and Digital Equity has extended the deadline for its “Broadband Expansion and Access” request for proposals to prequalify internet service providers to participate in multiple broadband expansion programs, beginning immediately with the $400 million Completing Access to Broadband (CAB) program. Vendors may now submit proposals until 2 p.m. on Aug. 14.
